“[Paris Hilton] says the baby voice she uses on the reality TV show “The Simple Life” is an act.

“I’m always playing a character,” she tells [Blender Magazine]. “I don’t talk like this really — like a baby. I don’t act like myself in public, because I don’t really want to show everyone the real me. Because I have no privacy whatsoever, the only thing I have is who I really am.”"

We have oppressed her so much that she has retreated into herself, burying her true self way down underneath the complex veneers to keep us confused. Genius. Damn, I wish I knew what she’s really like. I bet her favorite book is really Stephen Hawking’s A Brief History of Time. Or maybe she likes Kant. She’s tricky.
“The only thing” she has is who she really is? Is she cold and hungry? She must be broke. Donate to the Save Paris fund now!!!!

Maybe Grown Pumpkin will take her to Steak N Shake….

I don’t want to get in a blog war here, and I certainly don’t want to proclaim any expertise on the “plumbing” of the internet (since it is a series of tubes). All I can do is attempt to educate myself better and make some comments along the way. And it might be the case that my views will be revised.
In the spirit of debate and the search for truth, I do think handsoff.org should allow comments on their posts, just as savetheinternet.com has.

I don’t have a problem with content-neutral speeds being determined by the telecoms. If you want to pay more for faster downloads–whatever they are–that’s fine. But I do have a problem with the idea that they can choose the speeds of certain content–or block it altogether. They provide a delivery service. Their job is to be indifferent to the content that travels throught their tubes (I couldn’t resist). To make an analogy, UPS would have no right to delay documents that badmouth UPS.

Now, I realize that they provide their own content. They provide news, videos, and blah blah, and there are ethical ways to promote and prioritize that content. But if they are hacking into other content to make it less available, you have an intranet and not an internet.
Keep your hands off my content.
