Is This Title Misleading?

“9/11 hijackers shown laughing in video”
This is a headline on Yahoo.com as I write this. My first thought was they had some sort of footage from the plane that got leaked. Then I realized that is not really possible and came to the conclusion that perhaps it was them strolling through the security checkpoints in the airport “care free” on their way to do their duty on one of our planes.
This article itself was hijacked immediately after takeoff when it says “…in footage taken more than 18 months before they carried out the worst terrorist attack on U.S. soil.”
I was immediately notified to stop reading and ignore this attempt at hype and sensationalism. Maybe I am wrong and this is a story? Or are there 1000 different titles that could have been more fitting? Here are my suggestions:
“Footage of Terrorists 18 Months Before 9/11 Released”
“Video of 9/11 Hijackers Reading Wills Made Available”
etc.
I believe it is news worthy, but the “laughing” that is in the title is meant to provoke the readers into “how dare they laugh?” I believe this is propoganda at it’s finest and the reason why journalists are losing credibility. More to come, stay tuned.
yuck.
