Syncback kicks ass!!!
Posted In: Tech
Well, my computer crashed big time yesterday, and I spent last all night reinstalling shit. I wasn’t worried about my documents, however, because I have a bigass external harddrive that holds 120 gigs and I run Syncback, which is totally free. It’ll do most of the stuff you need it to do. I don’t think it does system backups, however.
I set my Syncback profiles up to back up some of my docs to an online folder via FTP–and the backups can be compressed, too.
No, they’re not paying me for this. This is a bona fide thanks to the people at Syncback.

A little over a year ago I went to prep my computer for backups and such and in the process completely fried my hard drive. Being that I NEED my computer for the nature of work I do, this experience was one of the worst of my life. I turned to a company that was able to help me for a really cheap fee (like $50 or so) and allowed me to scan my broke system before I bought the software. Needless to say I recovered most of my photographs (the only truly irreplaceable items) but none of my complex layered files. I still recommend them because I got a ton back that should have been gone.
