Trilogy

Posted In: Sports

Manny Pacquiao and Erik Morales fight on Saturday night for the third time. Morales won the first fight by decision. Pacman won the 2nd fight by TKO. Morales has just lost the third installment of his trilogy with Marco Antonio Barrera (2 years ago). As you can see in the videos, they’re both big-time sluggers. This will probably make for another great Youtube vid…if you like boxing.

Pacquiao-Morales I:

Pacquiao-Morales II (this one is the shit):

I’ll keep you posted on what happens, since Lil’ Sleeping Pumpkin is usually our boxing liaison.

PS–Oscar’s fighting Floyd in May.

The Zune: Good and Bad

Posted In: Random Lashing Out

This Walt Mossberg cat works for the Wall St. Journal. He critiqued the Zune (compliments of our friends at Street Tech).

I started digging around for Zune info and also found:

An AP story on Microsoft’s unusual marketing agenda for the Zune.

Fortune Magazine’s comparison. (this one’s pretty complete as well)

To me, It looks like:
1) In terms of the 2 products available right now, the iPod is probably still superior (especially given the fact that so many people have so much invested in the Apple system), and
2) This is just the first mile in a marathon. Now they both know their own weaknesses and can update from there. Both products should be updated within a year. I doubt anybody really knows which unit will prove to be the winner, and they might end up like Coke and Pepsi with no winner (I drink Dasani…and Pepsi).

I guess I’m the new technology guru here at the Trump since Pumpkin has gone into winter hibernation. I bet he’s beefed up for his snooze. He’s supposed to be on a diet. Pumpkin has some outdated opinions on the Zune, so we’ll just keep waiting for him to upgrade.
