Ok, this thing is pretty fuckin’ awesome, except for the model airplane noise that would get this thing blasted out of the woods by an RPG during combat. You know that the government has a huge boner for robots, and I’m sure they’re getting all fired up about this one.
In the video, you’ll see that the Big Dog slips on the ice and recovers. That’s my fav part. The motion of the legs is pretty astounding.

I have some vague memory from childhood (the 80s) where I was watching a show on robotics and the researches were saying how amazingly difficult it is to get a robot to walk and balance.
So, holy sh$t.
Thank god it can’t do philosophy or we’d really be in trouble.
While I was strangely reminded of that janky-ass robot from Short-Circuit (don’t know why - this guy doesn’t look anything like #5), this thing is freakin’ amazing. It does better than Griff on the ice, that’s for sho!
